How did Telangana Movement start and history:

Telangana movement has very long history going past from 1948 to 1956.

The movement on 6th December1968, students took out a procession from Vivek Vardhini College in Hyderabad which stopped and attacked by rowdies and many students were injured during this procession.  This led demonstrations in Khammam, Warangal and Nizamabad holding up meetings on 6th April 1969 at Buru Mahadev Hall. Many small parties and movements were formed during this with Telangana Praja Samithi, the movement spread to all corners of Telangana. Praja Samithi and Students` Action Committees were formed everywhere without any direction from above.

Telangana Praja Samithi with Pratap Kishore and Raghuvee Rao who were the prime members for the movement and Madan was elected as the president of the party. Further the Telangana movement was taken place under Telangana Praja Samithi,  which started spreading across different parts of the Telangana region.  With Student joining the movement as Student Actions Committee, both parties decided to take rally to Raj Bhavan,

The day of the rally was decided as  1st May 1969 can be also be said as one of the golden day movement for Telangana .  This rally was complete banned by the Government and no movement was allowed in the old city region.  However, with the date being announced many has taken shelter in nearby areas of Charminar.   However, the movement was on with police firing, teargas being into action.  However, this has not stopped the movement and reached Raj Bhavan.  With no leader in present with the party, on 21st May 1969, six months after the agitation was launched Channa Reddy became the President of Telangana Praja Samiti.  Chana Reddy started dividing the organization into small group, and one point of collection of funds, which gave way to corruption.

With the election on the verge, TPS decided to contest in 1971 under the  leadership of Chana Reddy and won comfortably.  This led to merging of TPS and Congress, which led to some violence by the students and also the merger was not accepted by the student committee.  This led to many Telangana people sent to jail, schools and college building were turned into prison.  However, with jail being fulled the agitatior were moved to different jail across the state.
